Doug Mallers PT, OCS, FAAOMPT
Doug Mallers is at our Stellhorn Crossing clinic, which has been open now for the past 7 years. Besides working daily with patients, he has served as a faculty member for the past 20 years with The Manual Therapy Institute, one of the Fellowship programs accredited with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT).
In addition to teaching courses, he provides Fellowship training in orthopaedic manual therapy to PT's traveling to Fort Wayne to hone their skills in more detailed patient evaluation, clinical decision making, exercise prescription, and manual therapy skills.
Most recently in 2017-2019, Doug taught courses in Denver and Los Angeles. After a hiatus from traveling and teaching due to the coronavirus pandemic, he is scheduled to instruct this year in Oakland, California.
He is a Fort Wayne North Side High School graduate and received his physical therapy degree from Indiana University's Physical Therapy program in 1992.
His wife, Tricia, is a preschool teacher at St. Peter's Lutheran Church and School and works part-time as bookkeeper for the clinic. His older son, Jim, lives in Indianapolis and works as an actuary. His younger son, Mark, just graduated from University of Cincinnati with his aviation degree and is in currently in training to be a flight instructor before moving on to the airline industry.

Trenton Swoverland PT, OCS, FAAOMPT
Trent Swoverland is a physical therapist at our Coldwater office which he and Doug Mallers founded back in 2002. Trent graduated in 1992 from Indiana University, then was board certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy in 1999 through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapist which he completed in 2005 through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapists. Over the last 15 years, he has been a clinical fellowship instructor for the North American Institute. He is currently a Clinical Instructor and Faculty-In-Training for post-graduate students through Aspire OMT.
When not working, Trent spends much of his time with his family. His wife Kristie is a physical therapist as well and works for Northwest Allen County Schools. His oldest Daughter, Remi will graduate in May with her Masters in Speech Therapy. Reece, his oldest son is a Pre-med student and is a Junior at the University of Cincinnati. His daughter Rhya is a Sophomore at Purdue University studying psychology. His youngest son Rhett is a 6th grader at Maplecreek Middle School studying YouTube and sports.

Lisa Saxe PT, DPT, MTC
Lisa Saxe joined the practice in 2007 and was made partner in 2013. She graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. She earned her manual therapy certification (MTC) in 2004 from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences and completed the Doctor of Physical Therapy program in 2012. Lisa works with patients at our SW clinic on Jefferson Blvd.
In her off hours, Lisa loves spending time with her daughter Ellie and son Finn. Ellie is a senior at Bishop Dwenger. She does gymnastics, works as an aide for M&S, and is looking forward to going to IU next year where she plans to study to be a PT or something in health care. Finn is a freshman at Bishop Dwenger where he plays football and as is also on a travel 7v7 football team. Lisa's other favorite pastimes are running, watching IU basketball, and the Green Bay Packers football.

Paula Noll PT, MHS, DPT, FAAOMPT
Paula joined the practice in January of 2007. She graduated from The Chicago Medical School in 1988. She has been practicing orthopaedic physical therapy since that time. She completed her post-professional master's degree from the University of Indianapolis in 1997. She completed her manual therapy residency and Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2007 and completed her fellowship with the Ola Grimsby Institute in late 2008. Paula is certified in Vestibular Rehabilitation. In her free time, Paula enjoys knitting, silversmithing, running and spending time with her husband.

Rebecca Merritt PT, DPT, MTC
Rebecca, a Fort Wayne native, joined the practice in Feb. 2009. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Coastal Carolina University in May 1999. She attended graduate school at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences and earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in December 2002. Rebecca also earned her Manual Therapy Certification (MTC) from the University of St. Augustine in January 2004. In her spare time, Rebecca loves spending time with her family and she stays busy and enjoys attending her daughter's and son's activities. She also enjoys running, riding roller coasters and traveling, especially somewhere with a beach.

Kristin Collins PT, DPT, COMT, CCI
Kristin joined Mallers & Swoverland in 2015 as a staff physical therapist, but worked for the practice 10 years prior as a technician while attending the University of Saint Francis. There she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology while playing collegiate softball. Following graduation Kristin attended Indiana University on the IUPUI campus to pursue her Doctorate of Physical Therapy, which she completed in 2010.
Kristin has experience working in acute care hospitals, rehabilitation facilities and skilled nursing facilities, but she has spent the majority of her career working in the outpatient orthopedic field. Kristin is a certified orthopedic manual therapist through Maitland-Australian Physiotherapy Seminars as well as a certified clinical instructor through the American Physical Therapy Association. Outside of work, Kristin loves spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys most anything outdoors, working in her family business, and traveling.

Emily Riggins, PT, DPT
Emily is from Southwest Indiana. She graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor's degree in Psychology-Brain and Behavioral Science. She went on to complete her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Trine University and is currently treating patients at our Stellhorn Crossing and Coldwater Road clinics.
Emily spends much of her free time with her husband, Michael, and their two dogs, Milo and Mackey. She also enjoys spending time with her fourteen nieces and nephews, traveling, being outdoors, running, playing tennis, watching Purdue sports, and landscaping.

Logan Wagler, PT, DPT
Logan, from southwestern Indiana, joined the team in 2024. He earned his Bachelors degree from Bethel College in 2017, and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Western Kentucky University in 2021. He enjoys treating all orthopedic conditions and is currently treating patients at our Southwest clinic on Jefferson Blvd.
Logan is married to his wife, Becca, and has two sons, Walker, who is 2, and Nolan, who is 5 months old. In his free time, he likes to spend time with his family, do all things outdoors, workout, and watch the Hoosiers and St. Louis Cardinals.

Adrienne Urschel Administrative Assistant
Adrienne is a Fort Wayne native, who graduated from Ivy Tech in 2007 with an Associate's degree in Medical Assisting. Adrienne has worked at Mallers and Swoverland since 2005 and is the administrative assistant at the SW clinic. Adrienne and her husband Chris have a 2 year old daughter named Haven. Her family also has two dogs, Marley, a goldendoodle and Lacey, a cocker spaniel. In her free time Adrienne enjoys playing with her daughter, playing softball and volleyball, running, being outdoors with her family and watching College Football, esp Notre Dame and Indiana. In the summer months, her family goes 4wheeling and in the winter months, they go snowmobiling, primarily in Michigan. Adrienne always enjoys being with both sides of her families and loves quality time. Recently, Adrienne joined Scout & Cellar as a consultant selling clean crafted wine.

Laurel Zwick Administrative Assistant
Laurel Zwick recently joined the team at M&S as the Administrative Assistant at Stellhorn Crossing clinic. Laurel is a graduate of Leo HS. She has a Psychology degree from Purdue Fort Wayne, where she played soccer, and is currently earning her MBA. Laurel has worked in healthcare since college.

Angela Hicks Administrative Assistant
Angela joined the practice in November 2015 at our North location. She has a strong work background in medical insurance and finance administration. She has an Associate of Applied Science degree in Office Administration from Ivy Tech Community College. Angela is a mother of 3. In her pastime she enjoys reading, singing at church, spending time with her family & taking long family road trips.

Jackie Bracey Office Manager
Jackie graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Ball State University. She joined Mallers & Swoverland in September of 2004 and became the practice Office Manager in January 2015. Outside of the office, Jackie enjoys spending time with her husband & blended family, outings with girlfriends, running & biking (especially in the sun), and church on Sundays.

Sara Toscos Marketing & Communications Coordinator
Sara joined the team at Mallers & Swoverland in February of 2019, after moving back to the Ft. Wayne area. Sara, a graduate of Homestead High School, grew up in Ft. Wayne but has resided in Valparaiso since graduating from Indiana University in 1990. She has a BA in Advertising with a minor in Studio Art, and has worked as the Marketing & Development Coordinator for The Caring Place domestic violence shelter prior to joining Mallers & Swoverland. In her free time, Sara enjoys yoga, sports, traveling and spending time with her three kids and family/friends. She is happy to be part of such a great group at M&S.
